I first came to NG back in 2001, then finally got round to making an account seven years later, most of my time spent here is in the forums. All you need to know about my personality is that I'm tough, but fair.Oh yeah and I prefer to just be called Dave.

I'm still practising my artwork even though I haven't submitted much since the "So there I was" story thread ground to an unfortunate halt, yesterday I made a new addition to my wooden sword collection, which I am very pleased with, if anyone would like to give me a suggestion for a design I would be happy to attempt it when I have some free time.

NOTE: I want to get my hands on some Olea laurifolia, also known as Black Ironwood or Leadwood, it's an incredibly dense and strong hardwood, not having much luck though since it is expensive, but if anyone can point me in the direction to obtaining some please speak up.

Also, any other swords I make I will be posting on NG in my news posts and also in the Wooden sword thread in the Art Forums.

This is very nice, but first of all you should do something about the handle, when you closely it looks strange's (The handle part after the black thingy)

Yeah that didn't exactly come out as I had planned, but the main reason for the bulkiness is to prevent it from slipping out of the hand, but thanks for the constructive criticsim.

I would like to ask ,what do you do with them when you make 'em?
Sell 'em,keep them in your collection and just admire them or something else?
P.S you've certainly got talent,keep it up.

I keep most of them, the ones in my personal collection I use as an exercise and meditation tool, I also occasionally take on requests where I make the customer's desired design for a small fee.

OMG, that sword is badass, is supossed to be a wooden Scimitar?
Anyway, when you have some free time, you should make, dunno, little knifes or swords and sell them, I think it could be a great form to make money :D

Keep it up!

Thank you for the feedback, this particular sword is actually an imitation of a "Dao" which is a Chinese Broadsword. I have sold a few before, most of the ones I sell are requested by a customer who has a particular design in mind.

That's really awesome!

Thanks pal!
